Cricket Rules
The cricket rules are explained briefly and simply
Anyone who has just discovered cricket is usually not clear about the full rules of the game. In cricket similar to baseball. Two teams compete against each other. A team hits the ball as far as possible to then score run points. The other team should prevent this. The game is round and teams alternate positions. The team with the right to hit has two players and the defending team has all players on the field. A team consists of 11 players in total. The two batters face each other at the pitch. A player from the opposing team must throw the ball. The batsman should hit the ball as far away as possible from the opposing team. If he doesn’t succeed, the opponent positioned behind him catches the ball and they get the point. The opposing team’s runners are spread out all over the field and are supposed to try to intercept the ball and throw it back to the start.
Score points in cricket
The awarding of points is manageable. Points are scored by hitting the ball far and by racing over the pitch. The batsman then has to run as many pitches as possible to score as many points before the opposing team has played the ball to begin with. If the player fails to do this, he is out. Therefore, the batsman must be able to judge accurately whether he will secure the points by standing still for a pitch or risking something and keeping running. If the player hits the ball out of the field, his team immediately gets 4 points. If the ball doesn’t touch the ground, you get 6 points. The team that scores more runs (points) in one or two innings wins the game.

Cricket in Germany
Germany is currently ranked 42nd in the world cricket rankings and is the largest cricket association in Europe after England.
Cricket arrived in Germany in 1873 when immigrants from England and the USA played the sport in the Berlin area. Since then, Belin has been considered the home of German cricket and has numerous teams.
Accordingly, the most successful German cricket team is a team from Berlin – the DSSC (The Sports & Social Club Berlin and Brandenburg eV). The team has managed to reach the German championship 14 times so far.
In the future, efforts will be made to further expand the youth cricket sector and to establish the sport, especially in the eastern German federal states.
Cricket is a game with tradition!
When you think of cricket, you think of elegant English gentlemen who play the game in their free time. The origins of cricket could have been something similar. The origins of this team sport go back to the 16th century. While cricket is mentioned as early as 1478, the first official game took place in England in Kent in 1646. Outside Great Britain, cricket was primarily played in countries that were part of the Commonwealth. In some countries, cricket has become a national sport. Other European teams also play cricket. Even Germany has its team and is ranked 42nd in the world. Cricket is a more elegant version of today’s baseball. But the rules are very different.
This is how you play cricket!
Two teams will be set up, each with 11 players. In addition to small, hard leather balls, every team also needs cricket bats. One team is the fielding team and they try to score as many runs as possible within their game. The opposing team tries to end these runs and sets the thrower. The pitcher throws in such a way that the batter makes an error. Like baseball, the bat is covered in protective clothing. The field players and therefore also the throwers are on the field with the entire team. There are only two of the thugs. The rest of the team takes turns taking turns. The goal is to have as many innings as possible. A cricket match can last up to several days. And as you might expect in distinguished English teams, cricket even has lunch and tea breaks.
